Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

• 1 cup shortening
• 2 cups sugar
• 3 eggs
• 1/4 cup whole milk
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• 4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

Preparation

Step 1

Cream together shortening, sugar and eggs. Add milk and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and add to batter; mix well. Chill for at least 3 hours. Heat oven to 400 degrees. Roll out dough to thickness desired (1/8" for thin cookies; 1/4" for thick). Cut with cookie cutters, if desired, and bake approximately 10 - 12 minutes. Frost, decorate and enjoy.
