Bourbon Street Bread Pudding

Ingredients

  • Sauce:
  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 6 c. whole milk
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 10-12 c. 2" cubes of day-old French bread
  • 2 Tbs. vanilla
  • 2 Tbs. brandy
  • 1 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 c. light brown sugar
  • 2 c. half and half

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients and let stand in refrigerator overnight.

Butter and flour 10x14x2" pan. Pour ingredients into pan. Set in large pan; add hot water well up sides. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes. Serve warm with sauce.

Sauce: In microwave, mix butter and brown sugar. Stir in half and half. Heat until hot and thick.
