Ingredients
- 2 12 oz or large bags Ore-Ida southern style hash browns (not shredded)
- 1/4 stick margarine; melted
- 1 8 oz sour cream
- 1 can cream of chicken soup
- 1/4 cup onion; finely chopped
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2-1 tsp black pepper
- 2 cup sharp cheddar cheese; grated
- 1 stack ritz crackers; crushed (optional)
- 1 stick margarine; melted (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Cook onions in 1/4 stick margarine. Add to potatoes; mix all ingredients except crackers and 1 stick margarine. Pour in a greased 13x9 glass casserole dish. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for 1 hour. When using last two ingredients, cook 40-45 minutes then add crackers and margarine, then return to oven and cook the rest of the time.
