Ingredients

  • Make Cinnamon Syrup:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 broken cinnamon sticks
  • Make Cocktail:
  • 1 ounce Marie Duffau Napoléon Bas Armagnac,
  • 3/4 ounce the King’s Ginger liqueur
  • 1/4 ounce cinnamon syrup
  • ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces hot light - medium roast coffee
  • orange peel, for garnish

Preparation

Step 1

Make Cinnamon Syrup:
In a small pot over medium heat, combine sugar, water and cinnamon sticks. Simmer, stirring frequently, until sugar dissolves and cinnamon infuses syrup, 10 minutes. Let cool, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve and discard cinnamon.

Make Cocktail:
Preheat a mug or heatproof glass with hot water, then discard water. Pour Marie Duffau Napoléon Bas Armagnac, King’s Ginger liqueur and cinnamon syrup into mug. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon, then top with coffee. Garnish with a strip of orange peel.
