Taco Pie

This easy recipe is adaptable for any type of meat

Ingredients

  • 1 (8-oz) can crescent rolls
  • 1 lb lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 pkg taco seasoning
  • 1/3 cup water (or follow seasoning package directions)
  • OPTIONAL: Replace 1/3 C water with 1 small can Rotel tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 C crushed tortilla chips, divided
  • 1 (8-oz) container light sour cream
  • 1 1/2 C shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 (2.25-oz) can sliced black olives, drained
  • salsa, shredded lettuce, other toppings (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

1. Spray a pie plate with cooking spray
1. Line the pie plate with the crescent rolls, bringing rolls to the edge. Make sure all gaps are filled in.
3. Meanwhile, brown the ground meat and add the taco seasoning and water (or Rotel tomatoes). Simmer for 10 minutes to blend the seasonings.
4. Layer 1 C of the crushed chips on top of the crescent rolls.
5. Next, layer the seasoned meat, sour cream and cheese.
6. Top with 1/2 C crushed chips and sliced black olives.
7. Bake in a 350 deg. oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
8. Serve with salsa, shredded lettuce and other toppings if desired.
