Snickerdoodles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 1/2 cups + 2 tablespoons sugar, divided
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Lightly grease baking sheet.
In a large mixing bowl, cream butter, 1 ½ cups sugar and eggs together until fluffy.
In a small bowl mix together 2 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
In a separate bowl, stir together dry ingredients (flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt). Add this to the moist ingredients and stir until all is incorporated.
Form dough into 1 inch balls and roll in sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on baking sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
