Ingredients
- 3/4 stick Crisco butter flavor shortening
- 1 1/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
- 2 tbs. milk
- 1 tbs. vanilla extract
- 1 large egg
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 tsp. baking soda
- 6 oz. chocolate chips (1 c.)

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 375.
2. Beat shortening and brown sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in milk, vanilla, and egg. Stir in flour, salt and baking soda. Blend in chocolate chips.
3. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 in. apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
4. Bake 8-10 min. for chewy cookies or 11-13 min. for crisp cookies. Cool 2 minutes, then transfer cookies to a cooling rack.
