CANNING BEETS

Ingredients
- Beets
- Sugar
- Vinegar
- Water
- Add to sauce pan equal amounts of Sugar, water and white vinegar.
- Bring to boil, pour into jars.
- Hint* For a 1/2 bushel you will need 3 cups of each and 12 large mason jars.

Preparation
Step 1
Wash jars in the dishwasher or by hand.
Boil lids of jars, (this will help them seal better)
Wash beets and cut off tops and bottoms.
Put into boiling water and boil 10-15 minutes
Skin and cut beets and put them into clean jars.
Fill jars with juice (see above) to the top.
Seal jars, put into canner, cover with water and bring to boil.
Boil jars for about 1/2 hour (until lids pop)
Pull out of canner and let cool.
