Malted Milk Bars

Ingredients

  • Frosting:
  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 2/3 c. butter, softened
  • 2/3 c. brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. chocolate malted milk powder
  • 1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
  • 1/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 3 Tbs. chocolate malted milk powder
  • 1 Tbs. boiling water
  • 2 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13"x9" cooking pan with non-stick spray. For the crust, combine the 1 1/4 c. flour, butter, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth. Pat the mixture into the prepared pan and bake about 15 minutes or until just set.

for the filling, beat eggs. Stir in sugar and vanilla. Add coconut, malted milk powder, the 1/4 c. flour, baking powder, and salt. Carefully spread the filling over the baked crust. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until set. Cool Frost before cutting into squares.

Frosting: combine all ingredients until smooth. Add more water, a little at a time, if frosting is too thick.
