Ramen Noodle Salad

Ingredients

  • Dresing:
  • 1 pkg Beef or Pork flavored Ramen Noodles
  • 8 oz. pkg Cole Slaw Vegetable Mix
  • 3-4 oz pkg. Slivered toasted Almonds
  • 1/4 Cup salted Sunflower Seeds
  • 2 - 3 sliced Green onions
  • 1/2 Cup oil
  • 1/3 Cup Cider Vinegar(or white wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar)
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • Seasoning Packet from Ramen Noodles
  • (or cut this dressing ingredients in half and add the other 1/2 Zesty Italian Dressing-very good also)

Preparation

Step 1

Break up noodles (do not cook). In large bowl, combine the noodles, cole slaw vegetables, almonds, sunflower seeds and green onions. In a small bowl, combine dressing ingredients.
Pour over salad just before serving - toss to coat evenly.

TIPS:
-Can saute seeds, maybe even noodles in butter, or put seeds on a tray in the oven at 350 for 7 minutes. Stir them around, they burn quickly and easily.
-Add 1 teas onion powder.
-Use NAPA cabbage (some bok choy) instead of cole slaw vegetable mix. Or use 2 pkgs pre-cut or 1 head of cabbage.
-If you can find dry roasted sunflower seeds, then don't saute or cook them.
-Add Jicima or water chestnuts , diced chicken meat, cashews or frozen peas.
