Vanilla Scones

  • 3 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. cold butter
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. vanilla yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. milk

Preparation

Step 1

Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in the butter with a pastry blender until the mixture looks like coarse crumbs. Stir in the egg, yogurt, and vanilla until just blended.

Turn on the countertop; knead 7-9 times. Pat or roll out the dough until it is about 3/4-1" thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter or make 2x2" squares with a knife. Brush with milk and sprinkle with a slight amount of sugar.

Bake in a preheated 400 degree oven for approximately 12 minutes or until golden brown.
