Ham and Cheese Biscuits

Men particularly seem to love these hearty but fluffy biscuits. Great just with lots of butter!

Ingredients
- 2 c. self-rising flour
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1 c. finely chopped ham
- 1 c. grated Swiss cheese
- 1/4 c. milk or buttermilk
- 1 c. sour cream
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Mix flour and shortening, cutting in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add remaining ingredients, mixing just until blended. Turn out of the bowl onto the countertop and knead gently 2-3 times.
Roll or pat out dough to about 1/2" thick. Cut with a biscuit cutter or just slice into squares. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes.
