Ingredients

  • 5-1/3 Tbsp each shortening and unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 6 Tbsp cold water

Preparation

Step 1

Sift flour and salt into medium bowl. Cut in shortening and butter. When well mixed, use your hands to work dough as you slowly add water, 1 Tbsp at a time, carefull not to add enough water to make crust sticky. Roll out onto floured surface. Makes enough dough for a latticed apple pie, two shallow 9 inch crusts, or 1 deep dish crust.
Freezes well!
