Ingredients
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
- 1 pint whipping cream, chilled and whipped
- 2 egg whites
- 1 cup sugar
- Sherry to taste (optional)
- Pecan halves
Preparation
Step 1
Fill bottom portion of a double boiler with water. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat.
Pour milk into top portion of double boiler full of hot water. Sprinkle gelatin over milk and stir to dissolve. Set aside.
While gelatin is resting, beat whipping cream till it forms stiff peaks. Set aside.
Beat egg whites until they form stiff glossy peaks, slowly adding sugar and sherry to taste.
Once gelatin has cooled, gently fold egg whites, gelatin and whipped cream together.
Carefully pour into a mold or glass serving bowl and top with pecan halves and let congeal.
