Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
Preparation
Step 1
Combine sugar, corn syrup and vinegar in a medium saucepan. Over medium heat, boil until sugar dissolves. Continue cooking without stirring to hard crack stage. (use a candy thermometer)
Remove from heat. QUICKLY stir in baking soda. Mix well. Move quickly - at this stage the mixture will "grow" and form the sponge quality. Pour into a greased 9 x 9 pan.
Cool to set.
