Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless pork
  • 1 c chicken broth
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1/8 t crushed red pepper
  • non-stick spray
  • 1 medium onion-sliced
  • 10 oz package broccoli-thawed
  • 1 clove garlic-minced
  • 1/2 t grated ginger root
  • 1-2 t cooking oil
  • 1/2 c sliced water chestnuts
  • **variations: substitute any vegetable that you like (zucchini, bean sprouts, peppers, pea pods), chicken is also good instead of pork

Step 1

Slice meat into thin, bite size pieces.

Meanwhile, for sauce, stir together chicken broth, cornstarch, soy sauce, sherry and red pepper--set aside.

spray a wok or large skillet with non stick spray and stir fry onion, broccoli, garlic, and ginger root about 3 minutes until tender crisp. Remove from wok.

Add oil to hot wok, add pork and stir fry for 5 minutes until no longer pink. Push pork from the center of the wok.

Stir the sauce and add to the center of the wok--cook and stir until thick and bubbly.

Return veggies to wok. Add water chestnuts and stir all ingredients together to coat everything with the sauce. cook and stir until heated through.
