Butterhorns

Ingredients

  • 1 package yeast
  • 1/3 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Preparation

Step 1

Combine warm water and sugar, sprinkle yeast over top and let stand 10 minutes.

Cream butter, sugar and eggs together. Add flour, milk, yeast mixture, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Cover and let stand 1 1/2 hours.

Cut into 3 parts, roll and spread with butter and roll up like a jelly roll.

Let rise 2 hours and bake in 400F oven for 10 minutes.

Ice with butter icing.
