Sherried Pecans

Ingredients

  • 1 c brown sugar
  • 1 c sugar
  • 1/4 c sherry
  • pinch salt
  • 3 T butter
  • 4-5 c pecans

Preparation

Step 1

Spread nuts on cookie sheet and roast for 20 min. at 275 degrees. Combine sugars, cream, sherry and salt. Place over low heat until sugar dissolves, then cook until soft ball stage(230 deg.) Add butter, cook to 235 deg. Add pecans. Pour onto buttered cookie sheet. If nuts soften, they may be roasted at 275 deg. for about 10 min. to get crackly on the outside. Let cool on cookie sheet.
