Ingredients

  • Dough
  • 4 cups of flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 handful of mashed potatoes (no milk and no butter)
  • Makes 6 dozen (It is best to let this rest for an hour before use)
  • Potato Filling
  • 5 lb. potatoes
  • 1 lb. cheese (sharp cheddar - Cracker Barrel is my favorite)
  • Makes 12 dozen (Remember to take out a handful for the dough).
  • Cabbage Filling
  • Medium head of cabbage; shredded
  • Use less than 1 stick of butter when frying

Preparation

Step 1

Prepare the potato filling and set aside a handful for the dough.
Make the dough and let rest - prepare perogies and enjoy!
