Maple and Chocolate Chip Shortbread

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened, plus more for pan
  • 7 TBS maple sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp maple syrup

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Butter a 9-inch tart pan, or roll out and make cookies. Beat butter, 6 TBS of maple sugar and salt in bowl until light and fluffy. add flour and beat until just blended. Add chips. Roll out into cookies or pat dough into the bottom of a tart pan. Brush with maple syrup and srpinkle with remaining sugar. BAke for about 55 minutes in tart pan or 10 - 15 as cookies.
