Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds extra-lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 32 ounces canned diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 21.75 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 pounds Bow Tie pasta, cooked
  • 15 ounces frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • 3 cups Ricotta cheese
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Preparation

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef. Add onions and garlic and
continue to cook until onions are translucent. Remove beef/veggies from skillet and strain off any excess grease; place in slow cooker. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce and seasonings to slow cooker. Cover and cook on low heat setting for about 8 hours. About 30 minutes before you are ready to serve, cook pasta. Add cooked pasta, spinach, Ricotta and Parmesan cheeses to slow cooker. Crank the temperature up to high and cook for another 5 to 10
minutes.

SERVING SUGGESTION: Serve with a big salad and a loaf of Italian bread.
