Ingredients

  • 1 29-ounce cans Hunt’s tomato sauce
  • 1 15.5-ounce can Hunt’s crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped basil
  • 1/2 cup chopped Italian parsley
  • 1/8 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Preparation

Step 1

Heat a large kettle over medium heat. Add the oil and let heat for about a minute. Add the onions and saute about a minute then add the garlic and repeat. Add the tomatoes and sauce, increase heat to bring to a boil. Reduce sauce to a simmer and add herbs, sugar, salt and pepper.
