Ingredients
- "Pudding" (cake)
- 1 1/4 cup chopped dates
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 1 ts soda
- 4 TBS butter
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup flour
- Sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup cream
- 1 cup butter
Preparation
Step 1
"Pudding"
Combine dates and water and bring to a boil. Add soda and blend or mash until smooth. Cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs one at a time. Gently fold in flour, then the date mix.
Bake at 350 for 55 minutes or until cooked through.
Let stand for 10 minutes and turn onto a wire rack. Pour 1/4 cup sauce over pudding then return to oven for 5 minutes.
Sauce
Combine all ingredients, stir over low heat until sugar dissolves. Simmer 3 minutes.
Serve pudding with sauce spooned over it.
