Ingredients
- 6 thin slices cooked ham (1-2 ounces each)
- 12 large eggs
- ¼ cup cream
- 4-1/2 ounces Gruyére chees, shredded (about 1-1/4 cups)
- Salt and freshly-ground pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Bake in individual baking dishes about 4-2/1-inches square on the bottom, or oval ones 6- to 7-inches long.
Heat oven to 350ºF. Butter six individual baking dishes and put a slice of ham in bottom of each. Break eggs over ham. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Spoon 2 teaspoons of cream over eggs and sprinkle with 3 tablespoons of cheese.
Bake about 20-25 minutes, until eggs are set and cheese is lightly browned on top. Remove from oven and let stand 5 minutes while eggs complete cooking.
Serve with crusty bread, fried potatoes and seasonal fruit.
