Ingredients

  • Soak 3 hours in ice water, drain then add to the following boiling ingredients:
  • 1 gal cucumbers, after sliced with peelings
  • 12 small onions
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 4 - 5 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp. celery seed
  • 2 tbsp. mustard seed
  • cider vinegar to cover
  • 1 tbsp. powdered or prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 tsp. tumeric

Preparation

Step 1

Bring to a boil then pack to within 1/2 inch of top of fruit jar and seal.

Process in boiling water bath for 5 minutes (start timing when water returns to boil). Makes approx 6 pints.
