Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lbs. top sirloin steak, cut 1" thick
- 1/2 onion, cut in quarters
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 10 slices fresh ginger root, quarter-size
- 1 jalapeno pepper, cut in half
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1/2 tsp. ground allspice
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves

Place onion, honey, lime juice, soy sauce, ginger, jalapeno, garlic, allspice, paprika, and thyme leaves in blender; process until blended. Place beef steak and marinade in plastic bag, turning to coat. Close bag and marinate in refrigerator 20 to 2 hours, turning once. Remove steak from marinade; reserve marinade. Place steak on rack in broiler pan so surface of meat is 3-4" from heat. Broil 16-21 minutes for rare to medium doneness, turning once. In small saucepan, bring reserved marinade to a rolling boil over high heat. Boil 2 minutes; strain and set aside for sauce. Carve steak crosswise into thin slices and serve with sauce.
