Crème De Menthe Squares

Ingredients

  • Cake Layer:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1-16 ounce can Hershey’s syrup
  • Mint Layer:
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 3 Tablespoons Crème de Menthe (green) + 1 1/2 more
  • Glaze Layer:
  • 6 ounce package chocolate chips
  • 6 Tablespoons butter

Preparation

Step 1

• Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

• Mix cake layer ingredients.

• Pour into greased 9 x 12 pan.

• Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

• Cool in pan.

• Mix mint layer and spread on cooled cake.

• Mix and melt glaze together.

• Cool slightly and spread over mint layer.

• Chill 10 minutes.

• Cut into small squares.

• Freezes well.
