Ingredients
- Bread:
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 t vinegar
- 2 T milk
- 1/2 t soda
- 3 cups flour
- 1/2 t salt
- 1 t baking powder
- 2 1/2 t vanilla
- 3 cups diced apples
- Topping:
- 4 T butter
- 4 T flour
- 4 T sugar
- 1 t cinnamon

Preparation
Step 1
Bread:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Mix well. Mix together vinegar, milk and soda. Add to creamed mixture. Add flour, salt, baking powder and vanilla. Mix well. Add diced apples. Pour batter into greased pans.
Topping:
Mix all ingredients until crumbly. Sprinkle on top of batter.
Bake 40-60 minutes in a 350 oven. Makes 2 loaves.
