Ingredients
- 1/3 cup cornmeal
- 1/3 cup King Arthur flour
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 large egg
- 6 fish filets (grouper, cod, tilapia, haddock), about 5 oz each
- Cooking spray
- 1 cup Tartar sauce
- 6 hamburger buns, split and toasted
- 3 cups iceberg lettuce, thinly sliced
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Combine cornmeal and florin a shallow dish, stirring with a whisk.
In another shallow dish, combine the water, egg, salt, pepper and garlic, stirring with a whisk.
Dip 1 filet in the egg mixture then dredge in cornmeal mixture. Place filet on a jelly roll pan coated with cooking spray. Repeat procedure with remaining filets.
Bake in 400 degree oven for 25 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork, turning once.
Spread about 2 tablespoons of the tartar sauce over the bottom half of eachvtoasted bun. Top each bun with 1/2 cup sliced lettuce and 1 filet. Cover with top halves of buns. Serve immediately.
