Orange Ripple Cake

Ingredients

  • Ripple:
  • 3 1/4 Cups Flour
  • 2 Tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp. Salt
  • 1 Cup Golden Crisco
  • 2 Cups Sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. Orange Peel
  • 2 Cups Yogurt
  • 2 Tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Cocoa
  • 2 Tsp. Cinnamon
  • Glaze:
  • 2 Cups Icing Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Orange Juice
  • 2 - 3 Tbsp. Hot Water

Preparation

Step 1

Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Cream Crisco, sugar, eggs and orange peel until fluffy. Stir soda into yogurt. Add dry ingredients alternatively with yogurt. Spread 1/2 in greased tube pan. Sprinkle ripple. Spread remaining batter over top. Swirl with knife. Bake for 70 - 80 minutes at 350 F. Cool 15 minutes on rack, remove from pan. When completely cool, drizzle glaze over top.

Make sure you have everything ready before you put soda into the yogurt, or it will bubble over.
