Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds lean ground chuck
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic bulbs, chopped fine
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes with juice
  • 1 can garbonza beans with juice
  • 1 can light red kidney beans
  • 1 can great northern beans
  • 1 48-ounce can chicken broth
  • 3 carrots cut in thin short strips
  • 2 ribs celery diced
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 3 teaspoons basil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 cup Racconto Ditali
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pinch cayenne pepper
  • dash of tabasco sauce

Preparation

Step 1

Brown meat with onion and garlic; drain. Add rest of ingredients except pasta. Simmer for one hour then add the pasta (short tubular pasta) and cook an additional 30 minutes.
