Ingredients
- 1 C. Shortening
- 2 C. Sugar
- 3 C. Flour
- 4 Eggs
- 1 t. Vanilla Extract
- 1 t. Almond Extract
- 1 t. Salt
- 21 oz. can Cherry Pie Filling
- Almond Glaze: Step #4
- 1 C. Powdered Sugar
- 1/2 t. Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 t. Almond Extract
- 2 to 3 T. Milk

Preparation
Step 1
1. Blend Shortening and Sugar. Add the next 5 ingredients and mix well. Pour 3/4 of the batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish.
2. Spread the Cherry Pie Filling over the top and dot here and there with the remaining batter.
3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes. Let cool!
4. To make Almond Glaze; stir all ingredients together until well blended and drizzle over Cherry-Almond Bars when they are just warm. Cut into bars and serve. Makes about 3 dozen bars.
