Ingredients

  • 2

    packages fresh, whole mushrooms

  • 2

    tablespoons onions, finely chopped

  • 1

    pound crab meat (I use crab legs)

  • 24

    soda crackers, finely crushed

  • 1/2

    cup cheddar cheese, grated

  • 1/4

    teaspoon garlic powder or 1/4 teaspoon garlic, minced

  • 1/4

    teaspoon pepper

  • 1/4

    teaspoon salt

  • 1

    egg

  • 1/2

    cup water

  • Mozzarella cheese, grated

  • 1

    cup butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 400°F. Wash mushrooms and remove stems. Set caps to the side and finely chop half of the stems. Discard the other half of the stems or use elsewhere. Combine chopped mushroom stems with all other ingredients except mozzarella and butter. Mix well. Place mushroom caps in casserole dish. Spoon stuffing into each mushroom. Sprinkle with grated cheese and melted butter. If there is extra mixture left over, sprinkle between mushroom caps. Bake for 15 minutes.
