Mocha Frosted Drop Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup Shortening
  • 2 - 1 ounce Square Unsweetened Chocolate
  • 1 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 Tsp Vanilla
  • 1/2 cup Buttermilk
  • 1-1/2 Cup flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/4 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Cup chopped walnuts
  • Mocha Frosting
  • 1 Cup (6 ounces) Semi Sweet Chocolate chips
  • 1/4 Cup butter
  • 2 Tblsp Cocoa Powder
  • 2 Tsp Instant Coffee
  • 2-1/2 Cups Sifted Powder Sugar
  • 1-1/2 Tsp Vanilla
  • Dash of Salt

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Melt Shortening and Unsweetened Chocolate together in a sauce pan
Cool for 10 minutes

Stir in the brown sugar then beat in the egg, vanilla and buttermilk.

Sift dry ingredients and add to the chocolate mixture.

Drop teaspoon size onto greased cookie sheet

Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.

Cook cookies and frost.

Cocoa powder
Instant coffee
Salt

Beat in:
powdered sugar
vanilla
