Ingredients

  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 29 oz can tomato sauce
  • 14 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 10.75 oz can tomato puree
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp sugar

Preparation

Step 1

1.In a large saucepan heat olive oil over medium heat
2.Add in chopped onion and cook until soft, about 4-5 minutes, stirring often
3.Add in minced garlic, stirring often, and cook for an additional 2 minutes or until garlic is fragrant
4.Stir in remaining ingredients, including all the spices and sugar, until well combined
5.Bring to a simmer and cover and let cook for 20 minutes
6.Taste and add in any additional seasonings as needed
7.Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days
