- 4 cups fresh blackberries
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 750ml bottles rose wine
- 1 cup cognac
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 3 cups pitted, sliced peaches and / or plums

Step 1
1. For the syrup, in a medium stainless steel saucepan, combine 2 cups of the berries, sugar, water, and dash of salt.
2. Bring to boiling; reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes stirring occasionally.
3. remove from heat; cool slightly. Strain through a sieve; pressing gently without crushing the berries, discard the berries.
4. Cool syrup.
5. For sangaria, in a gallon jug or pitchers combine the blackberry syrup, rose wine, cognac, lemon juice.
6. Cover and refrigerate 4 - 25 hours.
