Ingredients
- 5 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced (try Granny Smith apples - their tang is a nice balance to the sweetness of this crisp)
- 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup butter, softened

Preparation
Step 1
1. Preheat oven to 375F.
2. Put apples in an 8x8-inch baking dish, then add syrup and toss until apples are coated. In a bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar, and salt. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture evenly over apples.
3. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until topping is golden brown. Serve warm or at room temperature.
