Oat & Sage Stuffing

By

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Quick Oats
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups stale or toasted crusty white bread, cubed
  • 1 tbsp fresh Sage leaves, chopped, plus more whole leaves for garnish
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp Paprika
  • 3/4 cup Chicken Broth, 30% Less Sodium

Preparation

Step 1

In a large dry skillet, toast oats over medium heat for 5 min., until just beginning to turn golden and fragrant. Transfer to a bowl or plate. In the same skillet, heat the oil; add garlic, onion and celery. Cook until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 min.

Add the bread and cook until it begins to brown lightly in places. Stir in oats, sage, salt and paprika.

Add chicken broth and cook mixture, stirring, until liquid evaporates completely and stuffing begins to brown. Garnish with a few whole sage leaves and serve.
