Turkey & Pear Lettuce Wraps

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Finely Chopped Cooked Turkey
  • 1/3 cup Hoisin Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Minced or Grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1/2 tsp Dried Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 Ripe But Firm Pears, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • Juice & Grated Zest of 1 Fresh Lime
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper, as desired
  • 12 Large Iceberg or Butter Lettuce Leaves, well chilled
  • 1/4 cup Walnuts, chopped and lightly toasted
  • 1/4 cup Shredded Carrots

Preparation

Step 1

Place turkey in a medium saucepan over medium heat; add hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger and pepper flakes, stirring constantly until heated and well blended.

Remove from heat; add pears, lime juice and zest, stirring well. Season with salt and pepper, as desired.

Fill lettuce leaves with warm turkey mixture; top with nuts, carrots and mint leaves.

Yield: 4 main dish or 12 appetizer servings.
