Anise or Butterless Drop Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs: beat until ligt
  • Add gradually 1 C sifted sugar
  • Beat at least 3 to 5 min on med speed
  • Add 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • Sift before measuring: 2 C flou
  • Add 1 tsp baking powder
  • Add 1 1/2 Tbsp crushed anise seed
  • Add flour ingredients to egg mixture and beat another 5 min.

Preparation

Step 1

Drop 1/2 tsp at a time, well apart on cookie sheet lined with foil
Dough should flatten to 1 inch round but not spread more. If it does dd a little more flour.
Let the drops dry at room temp. (18 hrs)
Bake at 325 degrees until begin to color, about 10 min.
When done they will have a puffed meringuelike top and a soft cookie base
Let oool on foil
