Ingredients
- 1/2 pkg *8-oz) elbow macaroni
- 1/4 C marg. or butter
- 3 TBL flour
- 1/8 tsp dry mustard
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 2 C milk
- 2 C (8oz) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 C croutons
Preparation
Step 1
heat oven to 350
cook macaroni as per pkg directions,
decreasing time to 3 min
drain
in med saucepan, melt margarine
blend in flour, mustard, S & P
cook until mixture is smooth & bubbly
gradually add milk
cook & stir over med heat until mixture
boils
simmer 1 min
gradually stir in cheese
cook & stir over low heat until cheese
is melted
add pasta
mix lightly
pour into 2-qt casserole
top w/ croutons
bake 25 min
