Ingredients

  • 4 Baking Apples, cut in halves
  • 2 T. plus 2 t. Butter
  • 1 C. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 C. Cinnamon Imp Candies, (optional)
  • or
  • 1/4 C. Chopped Raisins (optional)
  • 1/4 C. Water

Step 1

1. Rome or Jonathan Apples are good selections for Baking Apples. Select a nice sized Apple. Wash, core, and place in a Baking Dish. (When coring the Apple make sure there is a well or dip in the inside center of each Apple.) We need this to place the ingredients in.

2. In each Apple, place 1 t. Butter and 2 T. of Brown Sugar. Place 1/4 C. Water in the Baking Dish with the Apples. If you wish, put a few Cinnamon Imps or Chopped Raisins in each Apple.

3. Cover the dish. (If you do not have a lid for the Baking dish, baste two or three times while baking.) Bake at 375 for 45 to 60 minutes.

4. When the Apples are tender Drain off the liquid and finish on top of the stove. Heat in saucepan until a little thicker and place on each Apple.
