Asian-Style Vegetables

Ingredients

  • 2 C chopped fresh broccoli
  • 2 C chopped fresh cauliflower
  • 1 small red pepper, chopped
  • 1 C boiling water
  • 1 T butter
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 tsp brown sugar, packed
  • 1-2 tsp freshly grated gingerroot
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 1/2 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Preparation

Step 1

Combine broccoli, cauliflower, red pepper and boiling water in large saucepan. Cover. Cook on medium for about 8 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp. Drain. Turn into serving dish. Cover to keep warm.

Melt butter in same pan. Add soy sauce, brown sugar adn ginger. Let bubble on medium for 1 minute. Pour over vegies. Toss gently.

Sprinkle green onion and sesame seeds over top.
