Raisin Chewy Bars

Ingredients

  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1 ts vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1/2 ts baking powder

Preparation

Step 1

Rinse and drain raisins.
Beat egg lightly and stir in sugar, cooled butter and vanilla.
Sift together flour, salt and baking soda, and blend into first mixture. Stir in the raisins.
Spread into a greased 8 or 9 inch square pan. Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes. Cool in pan. Cut into bars or squares.
