Pork Chop 'n' Potato Bake
- 6 Boneless PORK CHOPS
- 5 med. POTATOES, thinly sliced
- 2.8 oz. can FRENCH FRIED ONIONS
- 1 C. Shredded CHEDDAR CHEESE
- ~~ The Sauce ~~ *
- 5 T. BUTTER
- 5 T. FLOUR
- 2 C. MILK
- 1 C. SOUR CREAM
Brown PORK CHOPS in a deep skillet....SET ASIDE.
Layer as listed in the bottom of a Greased 13x9-inch Baking Dish.
1/2 of......the POTATOES
1/2 of......FRENCH FRIED ONIONS
1/2 of......Shredded Cheese
Other half of......POTATOES
~~ The Sauce
Melt BUTTER in the skillet you browned the chops in.
Add FLOUR all at once and blend well.
Mix MILK and SOUR CREAM together. ADD all at once, stirring constantly with whisk to keep smooth. It is done once the sauce has thickened.
Pour sauce over potatoes in baking dish and top with browned pork chops.
BAKE 350 degrees F for 40 minutes....COVERED
Sprinkle over the chops
Other half of......FRENCH FRIED ONIONS
Other half of......Shredded Cheese
BAKE for 5 minutes UNcovered....Let rest 5 minutes before serving
* Can substitute Cream of Mushroom soup + 1 can Milk
