Ingredients
- Topping:
- 9 oz semisweet chocolate, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6 large egg yolks
- 5 tablespoons granulated sugar (if using bitter chocolate add tablespoon)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbl confectioners sugar
Preparation
Step 1
Place chocolate in blender. Whisk the milk and cream, egg yolks, granulated sugar in a heavy bottomed medium saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring constantly with a spatula until mixture is thick enough to coat, about 5 to 6 minutes.
Pour mixture over the chocolate in blender. Cover and hold the lid with a towel, blend until combined and smooth, scraping the sides until well blended. Divide into serving dishes. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
Topping:
Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks. Top the chilled pots and sprinkle with shaved chocolate.
