- 8 whole chicken breasts, boned and split
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- dash pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- Sauce
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 scallions, chopped
- 1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
- 2 10 1/2 ounce cans cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup sherry
- 1/2 cup slivered almonds

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Coat bones breasts with flour and brown in the shortening. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika and place in a shallow baking bowl. Bake for 45 minutes.
Sauté scallions and mushrooms in butter. Add soup and sour cream. Add sherry to the sauce; stir and heat. Pour over baked chicken breasts. Sprinkle almonds on top and bake a few minutes until the almonds are crisp.
