    cup butter

  • 1

    cup sugar

  • 1 1/2

    teaspoons vanilla

  • 3

    eggs

  • 1

    teaspoon baking soda

  • 1

    teaspoon cream of tartar

  • 3 1/2

    cups flour

  • Frosting

  • 6

    tablespoons butter

  • 1 1/2

    teaspoons vanilla

  • 1/4

    cup milk

  • 4

    cups powdered sugar (approx.)

Directions

Cookies Pre-heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add baking soda and cream of tartar. Stir in flour. Refrigerate overnight. Roll out, cut with cutters and bake for 6-7 minutes. Do not overbake so cookies will stay soft. Frosting Cream butter and about 1 cup sugar. Add vanilla and mix. Add milk and rest of sugar alternately, until frosting is of a good spreading consistency.
