Santa's Thumbprints

Jam filled with oats

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup Crisco (substitute butter or do half Crisco, half butter)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 TBS vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup oats
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 ts salt
  • 1 3/4 cup chopped nuts
  • 2/3 cup fruit preserves

Preparation

Step 1

Beat Crisco and sugar until fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla
Combine dry ingredients (oats, flour, salt) and add to sugar and Crisco.
Form 1 inch balls and roll in chopped nuts. Make a thumbprint and fill with preserves.
Bake at 350 for 12 to 15 minutes.
