Baked Spiced Fruit

Ingredients

  • 1 (29 oz.) can peach halves in heavy syrup, drained
  • 1 (20 oz.) can pineapple slices in fruit juice, drained, reserving 3/4 c. of juice
  • 1 (14 oz.) jar spiced apple rings, drained
  • 1/2 c. drained maraschino cherries
  • 3/4 c. packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. butter
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp. curry powder
  • 4 tsp. cornstarch
  • 4 tsp. water

Preparation

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Arrange fruit in a 9x13" baking dish. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine reserved pineapple juice, brown sugar, butter, cinnamon, cloves, and curry powder. Stirring pineapple juice mixture frequently, cook 7-8 minutes. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water. Stirring constantly, add cornstarch mixture and continue to cook about 2 minutes or until mixture thickens. Pour sauce over fruit. Bake 25-30 minutes. Serve warm.
